1. The Herb Garden Marker

Inscription. The original Mercer herb garden was established in 1982 with a grant from the Brandt Petroleum Company and includes raised beds and paved walkways especially designed for the enjoyment of the handicapped as well as others who delight in herbs.

This informal garden includes traditional culinary and medicinal herbs that are well adapted to the Houston area, as well as plants chosen for their fascinating histories, and their unique foliage, color, texture or fragrance.

Two formal herb gardens are located at the entrance to the Daylily Garden.
