1. Veterans of Foreign Wars Community Center Marker
This site was purchased thru the endeavors of the Floyd E. Breedlove V.F.W. Post 9182 in 1951 and dedicated as a park for local use.
A non-profit organization, Katy Parks, Inc., was formed to borrow funds and receive contributions toward the construction of the community center. This building was erected in 1963 thru the efforts of the V.F.W., Auxiliary, and donations from local citizens. It was clear of debt in 1972. The parks and improvement were donated to the City of Katy on Oct. 1, 1974.
