Toll House
One of the six original toll houses on the Cumberland or National Road is on the hill opposite. Built after the road was turned over to the State in 1835 by the U.S. Restored and preserved by the D.A.R.
Erected 1947 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

6. Somerset County World War I Memorial Marker
This marker is next to the toll house. It can be seen on the left in Photograph 3. It reads: 1917–1919. In honor of those of Somerset County who served their nation and the cause of world liberty in The Great War, and in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice. Erected by Great Crossings Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. November 11, 1924.
