Except the 1st Florida Dismounted Cavalry and 4th Florida Infantry, this Brigade was brought up from the trenches early the night of Nov. 24th and formed on the left of Bate's (Tyler's) Brigade. Subsequently the 7th Florida, Lieut. Col. Ingram was sent back to the trenches with orders to hold them at all hazards. At 1 P.M. the line was moved to the right until the left of the Brigade rested in the depression to the right of Gen. Bragg's Headquarters. Adams' (Gibson's) Brigade of Stewart's Division was on its left. Upon the advance of the enemy Reynold's Brigade of Buckner's Division in retiring hastily from the trenches at the foot of the ridge, threw the left of Finley's line into temporary confusion. From downtown Chattanooga, I drove east to Missionary Ridge on Main Street, and using Main Street took me to the top of Missionary Ridge. Once at the top of Missionary Ridge I needed Touch for map.
