This regiment fought its way to this position in support of the lines of Matthies' Brigade.
After severe fighting, being vigorously attacked on its front and right flank, and its lines being enfiladed by a force advancing from the tunnel, it was forced from the hill.
Casualties: Killed, 2 Officers, 13 Men; Wounded, 33 Men; Missing, 2 Officers, 8 Men; Total 58.
Erected 1908 by the State of Ohio. (Marker Number MT-304.)

More about this marker. Because of its location in the Sherman Reservation it cannot be reached by car and can only be reached by foot. I would suggest parking your car in the provided parking area on Lightfoot Mill Road and then walking north on North Crest Road. According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the marker is a, “Bronze inscription tablet with decorative border mounted on low marble pedestal. Describes the unit's activities during the Battle of Missionary Ridge, November 25, 1863."
Also, according to the National Park Service, the "Bronze tablet stolen May or June 2001," and then, "Tablet was recast and installed in 2012."
