November 25, 1863.
The Regiment advanced with its Brigade in the movement of November 23 against Orchard Knob.
In the forenoon of the 25th the Regiment drove the enemy's skirmishers into the rifle pits at the foot of Missionary Ridge, Major S.C. Erwin being killed during the withdrawal of the Regiment.
In the storming of the Ridge in the afternoon the sixth reached the crest about this point.
Casualties: killed, 1 officer, 5 men; wounded, 2 officers, 26 men; missing 5 men; total 39.
