This historical marker (tablet) is located on the western crest of Missionary Ridge, between Shallowford Road and the Turchin Reservation. More about this marker. According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the marker is a, “3' x 2' bronze inscription tablet with decorative border mounted on low marble pedestal. Describes the unit's activities on November 25, 1863."
This marker (tablet) has apparently recently been restored. According to the "National Park Service List of Classified Structures" the, "Tablet has damaged upper right corner where it was struck by a boom mower," and the picture of the tablet that is displayed shows just the marble pedestal, without an attached bronze tablet. However, when I visited the site of this marker in the summer of 2015, I found a restored tablet.
