1. Madewood Plantation House Marker
Inscription. The first major building designed by noted architect Henry Howard. Construction of this Greek Revival mansion was begun in 1846, using materials from the land. Steamboats carried trade to Madewood on Bayou Lafourche.
 
Erected 1979 by Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
