Regarding House of Juan Engel. Juan Engel, also possibly known as Johann Eschel or Juan Alemán, was one of the first to bring improved smelting methods to New Spain, working particularly in the silver mines in Zacatecas. He was probably of German descent and was brought from Sevilla. He and other metal workers are mentioned in "La savia del Imperio. Tres estudios de economía colonial" by Julio Sánchez Gómez, Guillermo Claudio Mira Delli-Zotti, Rafael Dobado, 2002.
