Inscription.
The Marschall - Meusebach Cemetery. . Members of the families of two former German noblemen, related by marriage, are buried in this cemetery. John O. Meusebach (1812-97), who came to the Republic of Texas in 1845 as leader of the German Emigration Company, established (1846) the town of Fredericksburg and signed (1847) an historic peace treaty with the Comanche Indians. Wilhelm Marschall von Bieberstein (1822-1902) settled in this community in 1848. First burial here was that of Marschall’s sister-in-law, Mathilda Weiss (1824-1891). . This historical marker was erected in 1976 by Texas Historical Commission. It is Near Fredericksburg in Gillespie County Texas

Location. 30° 29.023′ N, 98° 59.88′ W. Marker is near Fredericksburg, Texas, in Gillespie County. Marker can be reached from Cherry Spring Road, 0.6 miles east of U.S. 87. Marker and cemetery are located 500 feet north of Cherry Spring Road at the end of the cemetery driveway; the above directions are to the driveway entrance.
