Regarding Dolores Bedoya de Molina. Maria Dolores Bedoya was a Guatemalan national hero who participated in the independence movement in Central America. She was born in Escuintla on September 20, 1783. On February 9, 1804 she married Dr. Pedro Molina Mazariegos, one of the leading figures of the independence struggle. De Molina Bedoya is known historically for her patriotism and work for the achievement of freedom. On the night of September 14, 1821 she went house-to-house, urging people to acclaim and support independence. She died on July 9, 1853.
