1. Lang Ranch Marker
Inscription.  Dating as far back as 12,000 years ago until the late 1800s, Chumash people had established many villages and seasonal encampments in this area due to territorial and ritual privileges and the abundant source of food and water bestowed upon the ancient Chumash and their descendants.
 
Erected by City of Thousand Oaks. (Marker Number 5.)
 
Location. 34° 12.719′ N, 118° 48.951′ W. Marker is in Thousand Oaks, California, in Ventura County. Marker can be reached from Lang Ranch Parkway half a mile west of Westlake Boulevard, on the right when traveling west. Marker is located at the Chumash Indian Museum parking lot. Touch for map. Regarding Lang Ranch. The Chumash Indian Museum is open Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is an admission fee. A guided nature walk to the cave shelter is usually held on the second Saturday of each month at 9:00 am, and must be booked in advance.
