1. Robert Fulton Birthplace Marker
Inscription. The inventor and painter was born here Nov. 14, 1765. Famous for his steamboat "Clermont", he also invented canal machinery, a "diving boat", and torpedoes.
 
Erected 1978 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
 
Location. 39° 48.327′ N, 76° 9.542′ W. Marker is in Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, in Lancaster County. Marker is at the intersection of Robert Fulton Highway Rt 222 and Swift Road, on the right when traveling south on Robert Fulton Highway Rt 222. Touch for map.
