1. Fannie C. Paddock Marker
Inscription. Fannie Paddock moved from New York to Tacoma to build Tacoma's first hospital. Fannie died on her trip to Tacoma, but in 1882 the Fannie C. Paddock Memorial Hospital was dedicated.

The marker is visible here, mounted in the sidewalk in front of the Old Town Musical Society Building.
is established by Bishop John A. Paddock in honor of his wife, Fannie, who had died exactly one year earlier while the family made the trip from New York to provide health care in the West. The Rev E. F. Miles, MD, is the hospital's first resident physician and chaplain.
