1. Fisher Pond Marker
Inscription.

Built by C. Donald Fisher in 1969, this 1.8 acre spring-fed farm pond gently slopes to a maximum depth of 8.5 feet. It was designed to provide a wonderful habitat for wetland plants and animal species using a wide array of food sources.

Experience an unbelievable array of wildlife. From songbirds to waterfowl and interesting wading birds, the pond and wetland environment is a favorite for winged wildlife. Fisher Pond is also home to bass, sunfish, and blue gills along with frogs and toads, and turtles.

[Inset text reads]
In a pond that is not maintained, plants decompose, soils build up and the pond gets shallower until it becomes a marsh. As those plants grow, die and decompose trees begin to grow and the marsh becomes a swamp. On the adjacent private property you can see an example of a swamp.
