Desde el 23 de enero de 1793 hasta el 14 de enero de 1800 vivió en esta casa el egregio iniciador de la Independencia Nacional Sr. Cura. Dn.
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla.
El Ayuntamiento de 1901, como testimonio de patriotismo, erige a su memoria este sencillo monumento.
San Felipe, 16 de Sbre de 1901.

English translation:
From January 23, 1793 to January 14, 1800, the distinguished initiator of National Independence
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla,
lived in this house.
The City Council of 1901, as a testimony of patriotism, erects this simple monument to his memory.
