Inscription.
"America's Oldest Fair" dates back to 1765, when Thomas Penn, son of William Penn, issued a charter allowing York to hold two fairs every year. The York Fair, with its rich historical past, highlights the area's abundant agricultural products, as well as its diversified industrial community.

Today, the fair is held annually in September on its 120-acre grounds west of downtown York.

Artist: Alan Wylie

[Text on the mural:]
America's oldest fair commenced in 1765 and was operated by the York County Agricultural Agricultural Society. A land grant from Thomas Penn originally located the York Fair on the Town Common. After moving to King and Queen Streets, the Fair moved to its current location in West Manchester in 1888.
