Welcome to the Wag Water River Walk
Welcome to the Wag Water River Walk
This takes us along the banks of the river through the lush garden. The river is one of Jamaica's most beautiful rivers, which rises in the mountains of St. Andrew, flows for just over 36 kilometres through St. Mary and empties into the sea west of Annotto Bay. The Wag Water River, formerly called Agua Alta, is one of two rivers that supply water to Kingston. The Wag Water River provides pools for refreshing recreation, baptisms and irrigation for plants in the garden.

Regarding Welcome to the Wag Water River Walk. The name of the river is interesting as it shows how the original Spanish name (Agua Alta or High Water) eventually transformed into Wag Water in English based on its sound and not its meaning.
