1. Breeding Steller's Sea Eagles at the Zoo Marker

Inscription. The Cincinnati Zoo is one of few U.S. zoos to successfully breed Steller's sea eagles. We have produced over a dozen chicks in cooperation with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums' Species Survival Plan (SSP), a program that works to maintain healthy animal populations in U.S. zoos. Captive breeding is important for this species as the wild population to habitat loss, pollution and over-fishing of their prey.
