Around the corner, at 424 Race Street, is the oldest community organization dedicated to Harriet Tubman. The museum offers exhibits, programs, and information about her life.

❷ Dorchester County Courthouse

This was the site of slave auctions. In 1850, with Tubman's help, her niece Kessiah and her two children made a daring escape from the auction block.

❸ Brodess Farm
Greenbriar Road, Bucktown, MD 21623
As the property of Edward Brodess, Harriet Tubman was forced to work here. After the death of her owner, Tubman feared sale to the deep South. This prompted her to flee to the North. No structures remain from Tubman's time, but the farm is still actively cultivated.

This building is located on the original site. It has been renovated and expanded. It contains some original fabric from Tubman's time. It was the site of her first public resistance to slavery.

This remote location is the site of Jacob Jackson's home. He was instrumental in the rescue of Harriet's three brothers.
