Inscription.
Beginning in 1764, entrance to the graveyard was a gravel path the width of a single grave.

When the church was built in 1768 this 36" wide path led to a 15' wide gravel promenade parallel to the length of the church's 4th Street side.

…Look straight ahead. A single rounded-top gravestone is the only one extant in what was a double row of gravestones bordering the southside of the original 36" wide gravel path.

As you walk forward… …know you are walking into the footsteps of 18th-century history.
