1. Bartram's Garden Marker
Inscription. John Bartram, 1699-1777, a third generation Quaker whose family settled in the Darby community 1683. In 1728 he purchased 102 acres here and began a botanical garden. He traveled the North American English colonies collecting plants, seeds and natural history specimens. Three generations of his family continues the garden.
 
Erected 1993 by The Welcome Society of Pennsylvania.
