Dedicated by the Department of Conservation State of Indiana to the memory of
Charles Redaway Dryer, F.G.S.A., F,R,G,S
who loved these lakes and hills. In his report on this region to the state geological survey in 1891 he said, “The time may come when the lakes of Steuben County will be the most valuable and profitable possession of her citizens who will then seek to devise means for preserving instead of destroying them.”
