1. Liberty and Justice for All Marker
Inscription.
The American Revolution secured liberty and justice for some, but not all Americans.

When the U.S. Constitution became ratified in 1788, slavery was still legal, women could not vote, and indigenous peoples were being violently removed from their ancestral lands and killed by disease.

Through suffering, determination and sometimes bloodshed, oppressed peoples slowly gained some their basic rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Today, many Americans still face discrimination and deprivation. It is every generation's duty to fight for the rights of all people. Only then will Liberty and Justice truly be for all.
