1. The Burial Place of Chief Kokomo Marker
Inscription. This stone marks the burial place of Kokomo, War Chief of the Miami Indians the former owners of the land along this river, and from whom this city derives its name.

In memory of the early pioneers and settlers of this region who lie in this the first burial ground of the community and who, by their courage, industry and endurance, assisted in the transformation of the wilderness to which they came to a land of peace, comfort and established order.
