Mounds 29 & 30

Mounds 29 and 30. Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park. Mounds Associated with the Great Circle Enclosure:, Mound 29 is a rectangular platform 161 ft. x 171 ft. at its base and 11 and half feet tall. It seems to be aligned with Saul's Mound, at the center of the complex, on the line of the Equinox Sunrise and is within the Great Circle., Mound 30 is a bird-shaped mound that sits just outside the Great Circle to the southeast. The bird shape may, though, be due to more recent impacts on the mound's original shape.
