In 1595 this building with copper mill belonged to “copper master” Jordan Peltzer. In 1695 the Lutheran community bought the garden for holding church services. Vaals was at that time flooded with Protestant churchgoers from Germany, who were here under the protection of the Dutch States General so that they could hold their church services.
