Inscription. Beginning in the early 1900s, the automotive industry in Madison County grew to include production of headlights, taillights, horns, batteries, and other accessories. Also known for its Native American history, the mounds near Anderson are believed to have been constructed by prehistoric Native Americans of the Adena-Hopewell culture.
