Inscription. What is an ichthys? You may have noticed that the bench is shaped like a fish. This fish is called an ichthys. In Greek, it is an acrostic meaning, "Jesus Christ, Child of God, Savior." Christ-followers have been using this symbol to self-identify since at least the second century. Our bench was designed by Richard Price of Gloucester, United Kingdom.
