With the end of the last ice age, Delaware Bay formed as melting glaciers to the north caused sea level rise. Sea levels were 100 feet lower, and the coastline was 60-80 miles further east than they are today.

10,000 years ago the landscape and climate in this area looked and felt [unreadable] than today - featuring a mix of [unreadable] similar to [unreadable] of present day [unreadable] Canada. As the glaciers retreated, native people moved into the Delmarva peninsula, living in [unreadable] and [unreadable] stone-tipped spears to [unreadable] a variety of game animals. This included [unreadable] woolly mammoth, and musk ox, as well as bear, moose, [unreadable] elk and deer.
