1. Birch Woods Marker
Inscription. Forming vast forests throughout the Northlands, there are more than 40 species of birch. They are fast-growing, short-lived, and the first trees to recolonize disturbed land. Birch bark is water-resistant and was historically used to make canoes, wigwams, and containers.
