Inscription.
Welcome to Osprey Overlook Park, a recovered, natural setting that overlies an existing landfill and provides passive recreation opportunities and environmental education. Its use is governed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection's 310 CMR 19.000. The landfill is sealed by a protective membrane and vented by pipes. The site was a town transfer station, active through the 1990s and capped in 1999-2000. In 2016, work began to transform the space into public parkland with federal Land & Water Conservation Funds as well as local Community Preservation funds.

A 3/4-mile trail is available for easy to moderate walking in this quiet and natural setting. (The loop is just of 1/2-mil3 in length.) The Osprey Overall Park provides access to the Weymouth Back River and Weymouth's Great Esker Park, a 237-acre property featuring the highest esker in North America at 90 feet.
