Major-General Sir Issac Brock K.B.
Provisional Lieut.Governor and commander of the forces
in this province whose remains are deposited in the vault beneath.
Opposing the invading enemy he fell in action near these heights
on the 13th of October 1812, in the 43 year of his age.
Revered and lamented by the people whom he governed
and deplored by the sovreign
to whose service his life had been devoted.

16. Brock's torso and left shoulder
After the arm fell off, the monument was renovated in the 1930s, and this portion of the Brock's 1853 statue was replaced. This original portion is now on display within Brock University's Rankin Family Pavilion, under a stairway.
