1. Goosefoot Marker
Inscription. The earliest evidence of the domestication of goosefoot in North America goes back 3,500 years. This nutritious plant was a relative of the now-popular quinoa and packed with protein. The leaves could have been eaten as greens, and the seeds could have been ground and used for bread flour or as a thickener in soups and stews. It is now extinct in its domesticated form.
