1. Jose Fernandez Marker
Inscription.  Jose Fernandez, a pioneer in overland freight, made a huge fortune in arms and supplies for Mexican and Civil War trade. He joined Porfirio Diaz's inner circle (1876), and acquired a large coffee plantation in Veracruz. He amassed sizeable property and banking holdings in Brownsville and has the largest monument south of Corpus Christi.

Jose Fernández, pionero en el transporte terrestre de mercancía, obtuvo una gran fortuna en el comercio de armas y suministros durante las insurrecciones en México y La Guerra Civil Norte- americana, Don José Fernández formó parte del círculo interior del Presidente de México, Don Porfirio Díaz (1876) y adquirió una Plantación de Café en Veracruz, Don José acumuló varias propiadades e intereses financieros en Brownsville. Don José tiene el monumento fúnebre mas grande al Sur de Corpus Christi, Texas.
