Wind Energy Is Not New
Boats on the Nile River were propelled by wind as early as 5000 B.C., and by 200 B.C., regions like China, Persia and the Middle East were using simple windmills.

Wind & You
American settlers first used windmills to grind wheat and corn, cut wood at sawmills, and pump water.

The Zoo
In 2008, the Zoo installed a 60-foot tall wind turbine in the Anthony Wayne Trail entrance the generate power for the parking lot booths.
