Bronzeville Walk of Fame Historical Markers
In 1996, the City of Chicago embedded 91 plaques into the sidewalks and median along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between 25th Street and 35th Street, in honor of past residents of Bronzeville, the historically Black neighborhood on the city's South Side. The walk stretches from the Monument to the Great Northern Migration, a statue near 25th Street that honors the African Americans who came to Chicago in the early 20th century, to the Victory statue near 35th Street, which honors Black soldiers of World War I.| 1 ► Illinois, Cook County, Chicago, Bronzeville — Arthur Mitchell 1883-1968 Bronzeville Walk of Fame — |
