⊳Alabama Historical Association Historical Markers
The Alabama Historical Association began sponsoring historical markers as early as 1950 and a standing AHA marker committee was created in 1952. There are now more than 500 markers recognizing the states long and diverse past. The distinctive design has a deep blue background with text portrayed in gold letters. The insignia at the top is the Alabama flag. The Alabama Historical Commission also has a similar marker program (and separate HMDb series) which has a circular medallion at the top of the marker with an outline of the state inside.1 ► Alabama, Autauga County, Autaugaville — Albert J.
